Two months ago, West Coast Resorts purchased the Inn at Sandspit, a 20 room hotel located steps, literally, from the Sandspit airport. After extensive renovations, new staff and menu to die for, we have opened for business!

A Bit About Haida Gwaii

The Queen Charlotte Islands, or Haida Gwaii (“Islands of the People”), are an archipelago off the northwest coast of British Columbia, Canada, consisting of two main islands, Graham Island in the North, and Moresby Island in the south, and approximately 150 smaller islands. These Islands are renowned for their Natural wonders, diverse wildlife and living Haida culture; A jewel of Canadian history and natural heritage. A visit to the Haida Heritage Centre museum at Kaay Llnagaay to learn about the Haida Culture is a must!

You may also want to visit the ancient, moss covered mortuary poles of SGang Gwaay for a truly mystical experience. Haida Gwaii is also rich in opportunities for adventure activities such as kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking and camping making this the ideal all-around travel destination.

Fly to Sandspit and stay in the central and hospitable West Coast Resorts Inn at Sandspit. Sandspit’s history goes back to at least one ancient Haida Village, Kil, and the first settlers at Sandspit established farms and ranches around the grassy flats. A 25-minute ferry crossing connects Alliford Bay on Moresby Island with Skidegate Landing on Graham Island making exploring this dazzling archipelago convenient and scenic.
